About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Service Engineer to provide expert technical support and solutions for our Mortar Powder & building material coatings product lines. This role combines hands-on field troubleshooting, customer training, and collaboration with R&D to optimize product performance and ensure customer satisfaction in construction, industrial, and architectural markets.
Responsibilities:
* Technical Support & Troubleshooting
* Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, distributors, and sales teams, resolving issues related to product application, performance, and compatibility (e.g., adhesion failure, curing defects, durability concerns).
* Conduct on-site visits to diagnose problems and recommend solutions for Mortar Powder (e.g., concrete additives, mortar mixes) and coatings (e.g., epoxy, waterproofing, decorative finishes).
* Product Training & Documentation
* Develop and deliver technical training programs for customers, contractors, and internal teams on product usage, safety protocols, and best practices.
* Create detailed technical documentation, including application guides, safety data sheets (SDS), and troubleshooting manuals.
* Product Optimization & Testing
* Collaborate with R&D and QA teams to improve product formulations based on field feedback and performance data.
* Perform lab and field tests to validate product compatibility with substrates (concrete, wood, metal) and environmental conditions (humidity, temperature).
* Compliance & Sustainability
* Ensure products meet industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) and environmental regulations (e.g., low VOC, REACH compliance).
* Advocate for sustainable solutions, such as eco-friendly coatings or recycled sand powder applications.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Support sales teams by participating in client meetings, demonstrating product value, and addressing technical inquiries during pre- and post-sales phases.
* Work with supply chain to address logistics or raw material challenges impacting product performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., NACE, SSPC) are a plus. 3+ years of experience in technical service, R&D, or application engineering within the building materials, coatings, or construction chemicals industry. Sherwin williams,Sika,etc are preferred.
Required Skills:
* In-depth knowledge of Mortar Powder applications (e.g., cementitious systems) and coating technologies (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic).
* Proficiency in laboratory testing methods, data analysis, and root-cause analysis for product failures.
* Familiarity with CAD software, simulation tools, or digital tools for technical documentation is advantageous.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
* Multilingual skills for roles supporting global markets (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin).
* Willingness to travel up to 50% for customer site visits and industry events.
