We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate project budgets and cost estimates in collaboration with engineering and commercial teams.
Track actual expenditures, commitments, and forecast costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Conduct variance analyses and provide detailed monthly cost reports with insightful commentary.
Support trend and change management processes, including cost/schedule impact analysis, risk and opportunity assessments, and mitigation planning.
Monitor contractor/vendor costs, review progress claims and variations.
Participate in construction acceptance and close-out activities.
Maintain and update cost data and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Cost Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in a construction or engineering environment.
Familiarity with Chinese construction standards and Chinese drafting style.
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written).
Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced knowledge in engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and financial reporting.
Experience with digital budgeting and cost management tools.
Willingness to work on a 14/7 rotational schedule in Brokopondo, Suriname.
