We are seeking a skilled Engine Controls Validation Engineer specializing in Engine Control Systems for a leading passenger car and truck manufacturing company.
Job Summary
- Perform verification and validation of control algorithms against functional requirements employing methods of model-in-the -loop, hardware-in-the-loop, subsystem test and vehicle test.
- Lead subsystem simulation activities to support development of control algorithms
- Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for control logic changes as needed.
- Develop requirements for implementing algorithms for Engine Control System functionalities such as Fuel Control, Thermal Management, and Engine Torque Management.
- Establish and execute design verification plans for control logic development.
- Conduct design reviews.
- Develop and maintain calibration support tools for On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) functionality.
- Deliver certification documentation and PVE test procedures to the Technical Safety and Regulatory Committee.
- Support cost reduction efforts through control logic development and other quality initiatives.
- Follow up on system issues to ensure closure and submit changes to the Software Requirements database.
- Improve and enhance the robustness of fault code diagnostics.
- Assist calibration engineers during calibration and testing activities.
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Skills
* Proven experience in Embedded Control System Software Development (min 2 years), testing and validation.
* Advanced experience with modeling and simulation tools:
Matlab, Simulink.
* Knowledge of AUTOSAR and System Desk Tool.
* Experience with C programming.
* Proficiency in diagnostic, communication protocols, data acquisition systems (ETAS-Inca, CANalyzer).
