Metadata Specialist Role
This is a highly specialized role that requires an individual with extensive knowledge of metadata models, taxonomy structures, and controlled vocabularies.
The ideal candidate will have experience organizing and managing large volumes of assets in enterprise digital asset management platforms, creating consistent folder structures, naming conventions, and tagging standards.
A strong quality assurance mindset is essential for this position, as the individual will provide human-in-the-loop support alongside AI tagging tools.
The Metadata Specialist will also be responsible for training and onboarding marketers and content owners on how to use and maintain structured digital asset systems.
In addition, the role involves familiarity with usage rights, compliance workflows, and content lifecycle management.
The successful candidate will possess a strategic mindset to help embed librarian practices into decentralized teams and scale metadata ownership over time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Metadata Modeling: Create and apply consistent metadata models, taxonomy structures, and controlled vocabularies.
* Digital Asset Management: Organize and manage large volumes of assets in enterprise digital asset management platforms.
* Quality Assurance: Provide human-in-the-loop support alongside AI tagging tools.
* Training and Onboarding: Train and onboard marketers and content owners on how to use and maintain structured digital asset systems.
* Content Governance: Familiarity with usage rights, compliance workflows, and content lifecycle management.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree: In project management, communications, computational linguistics, or a related field.
* Project Management Experience: 3+ years of experience in program or project management.
* Digital Asset Management: 3+ years of experience in managing extensive digital asset libraries.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop long-term solutions.
* Stakeholder Relationship Management: Experience in managing stakeholder relationships and communicating effectively.
