We are seeking a seasoned Data Governance Expert with a strong background in the financial services industry .
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in establishing, implementing, and maturing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
This role will be critical in advising our financial services clients on best practices for data quality, data lineage, metadata management, regulatory compliance (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, GDPR, CCPA), and overall data stewardship.
You will work closely with client stakeholders, including business units, IT, risk, and compliance teams, to drive effective data governance initiatives.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred
8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, with at least 5 years specifically within the financial services industry (banking, capital markets, insurance)
In-depth knowledge of financial industry regulations and reporting requirements related to data (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, FRTB, MiFID II, GDPR, CCPA)
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maturing enterprise-level data governance programs
Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, data architecture, and data warehousing
Experience with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, IBM InfoSphere)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
Nice to Have
Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP - Certified Data Management Professional).
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data governance implications.
Familiarity with data privacy frameworks and their implementation.
Consulting experience with multiple financial services clients
Responsibilities
Strategy & Framework Development: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive data governance strategies, frameworks, and operating models tailored to the unique needs of financial services clients
Policy & Standard Definition: Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures for data quality, data classification, data privacy, data security, data retention, and data lifecycle management
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure client data governance programs align with relevant financial industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, Solvency II, GDPR, CCPA)
Data Stewardship & Ownership: Establish and support data stewardship roles and responsibilities, facilitating data ownership across various business functions
Metadata Management: Lead initiatives for metadata management, including business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation
Data Quality Management: Develop and implement data quality rules, metrics, monitoring processes, and remediation plans to ensure high data integrity and reliability
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with senior business leaders, IT teams, legal, risk, and compliance departments to foster a data-driven culture and gain consensus on data governance initiatives
Tooling & Technology: Advise on and evaluate data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) to support the implementation of data governance capabilities
Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs and communication strategies to raise awareness and promote adherence to data governance principles
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring data assets are protected and managed appropriately
