Role Overview

The Brazil Operations Lead is a strategic and operational role responsible for ensuring that

BioTara's supply chain — from community sourcing to export — functions seamlessly,

efficiently, and in full alignment with our regenerative sourcing principles.

The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of BioTara's Brazil operations, including logistics,

Key Responsibilities

aligns with global business strategy.

• Design, implement, and continuously improve operational systems and SOPs for logistics,

warehousing, sourcing, and export.

• Oversee readiness for certifications (Ecovadis, COSMOS, FairWild, etc.) and ensure

compliance with Brazilian and international standards.

• Develop annual operational budgets and cost-optimisation plans.

• Represent BioTara in partnerships with government, institutional, and private-sector

stakeholders.

2. Supply Chain & Logistics Management

• Supervise all logistics from Amazonian communities to export — including transport,

packaging, documentation, and customs.

• Manage freight forwarders, storage facilities, and export partners to ensure timely and

ethical delivery.

• Maintain inventory systems and real-time stock visibility

• Anticipate and resolve logistical challenges to maintain reliability and traceability.

3. Community & Partner Engagement

• Strengthen relationships with Amazonian communities, cooperatives, and processing

partners.

• Ensure all operations respect community timelines, capacities, and cultural protocols.

• Collaborate with the Community Engagement team on training, monitoring, and

regenerative sourcing initiatives.

• Uphold BioTara's Code of Ethics and principles of fair and transparent trade.

4. Webshop, Fulfilment, and Inventory Oversight

• Oversee BioTara's webshop operations and alignment with international fulfilment.

• Supervise pricing, product availability, and catalogue accuracy with marketing and sales

teams.

• Guarantee on-time and high-quality order fulfilment for samples and commercial

shipments.

5. Financial & Administrative Oversight

• Manage operational budgets and financial planning for Brazil operations.

• Oversee local payments to communities, cooperatives, and logistics providers with

transparency and accuracy.

• Maintain documentation and ensure audit readiness across financial and operational

activities.

6. Team Leadership, Development & People Management

• Lead, inspire, and develop a small operations and logistics team in Brazil, fostering a

culture of ownership, learning, and integrity.

• Establish clear performance goals, accountability systems, and regular feedback cycles.

• Build team capacity through mentoring, skills development, and cross-functional

collaboration.

• Lead by example — modelling BioTara's values of transparency, respect, and regenerative

leadership in daily work.

• Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members as BioTara's operations

expand.

7. Reporting & Traceability

• Deliver regular, data-driven operational reports on shipments, stock levels, and KPIs.

• Maintain accurate traceability data through BioTara's digital systems (e.g. Orijin,

BioVerse).

• Contribute to sustainability, certification, and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting & Verification)

reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management

— ideally in natural ingredients, agro-industrial, cosmetics, or export sectors.

• Proven experience managing multi-stakeholder supply chains across Brazil or similar

environments.

• Strong understanding of Amazonian socio-environmental contexts and rural logistics.

• Demonstrated expertise in international export documentation, customs procedures, and

compliance.

• Experience leading teams, mentoring staff, and building high-performance cultures.

• Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital

logistics/ERP or inventory systems.

• Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational forecasting.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in Portuguese and English (Spanish

desirable).

• Knowledge of natural ingredient sourcing and sustainable supply models is a strong plus.

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel frequently to field sites.

• Must be based in Belém, Brazil (or willing to relocate).

Key Competencies & Skills

• Operational excellence and precision: delivers consistently high standards across

processes.

• Strategic and analytical thinking: aligns operational execution with long-term vision.
