As Trade Lane Manager Americas, you combine responsibilities for the region with the global ownership of suppliers and projects.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible at the specialist level for the efficient configuration of transportation for inbound commercial routes in a defined geographic region, exploring all relevant modes of transport (air, sea, rail, road, express).
Logistics supplier owner and contract owner for global defined transport suppliers, drive negotiations, contracting and rate reviews with appointed suppliers, proactively challenging existing ways of working as well as exploring new solutions
Responsible for following market trends, geopolitical developments, actively drive and support global/regional tenders, proactively working with local units for optimized solutions as well as responsible for contingency plan management and communication for appointed trade lanes
Supplier relationship management including business reviews, improvement plans, deployment of solutions in the defined geographical region.
Drive and support initiatives to reduce transport emission footprint in the defined geographical area,
Responsible for master data for relevant lanes, lead time, rate and spend development, volume development, SCAC codes etc.REQUIREMENTS:
Good knowledge of transport/logistics management as well as related procurement
Strong negotiation and contractual skills, ability to use TCO (total cost of ownership) approach in making decisions
Strong leadership skills, ability to lead without having formal authority
Strong communication skills, ability to understand different cultures and manage stakeholders at different levels in the organization (both internal and external)
Proactive, able to take initiative and drive activities/projects to completion, with ability to lead global and / or regional tenders
Ability to drive change and manage change resistance in a constructive and positive way
Strong analytical skills, ability to work with large amounts of data and complex topics in a structured way. Power BI or equivalent skills are an advantage
Language skills: fluent English and Spanish, Portuguese is an advantage
University degree or equivalent within relevant practice
