We're currently seeking full-stack developers to join our engineering team, with a strong emphasis on deep WordPress and modern JavaScript experience.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to join our global engineering team. This position focuses on backend development — building and optimizing custom WordPress plugins, APIs, and integrations for large-scale, high-performance websites.
The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of WordPress internals, experience working with enterprise clients, and a strong understanding of scalable, maintainable code.
Responsibilities
* Integrate WordPress with subscription, paywall, and circulation systems.
* Build and maintain API integrations between WordPress and external platforms.
* Ensure reliable synchronization of user data, subscriptions, billing, and content access.
* Design backend services and middleware to support multi-system communication.
* Work closely with product and data teams to support subscription and audience workflows.
* Troubleshoot and optimize data flows across systems for performance and reliability.
* Develop scalable solutions for high-traffic media platforms.
Minimum Qualifications
* 5+ years of WordPress development experience with backend focus.
* Strong experience with API integrations and distributed systems.
* Experience with platforms such as Darwin CX and Naviga NCS Circ.
* Experience with subscription/paywall systems and audience management platforms.
* Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and REST/webhooks.
* Experience integrating WordPress with external SaaS platforms or enterprise systems.
* Understanding of authentication, data synchronization, and system reliability.
* Advanced written and spoken English (international client communication required).
