Role: Senior Full-Stack Developer (C#, .NET, React) with Lead Skills
Location: Latin America (Only Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, or Puerto Rico.)
Reporting to: Director of Engineering
Contract type: Employee of Record (EOR)
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong full‑stack experience to help design, build, and scale our web applications. This is a hands‑on senior individual contributor role, but one that requires demonstrated leadership capabilities and engineering maturity.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who:
Thrives with end‑to‑end ownership of features and systems
Has previous experience leading or mentoring other engineers
Is motivated to grow into or continue in a technical leadership role, helping guide engineering standards, architecture, and team execution
You will be hired first and foremost for your ability to deliver high‑quality software end‑to‑end. At the same time, we expect senior engineers at Smartwyre to bring technical leadership—setting a high bar for code quality, design, collaboration, and ownership. While leadership responsibilities may not be required immediately, this role is well‑suited to someone who is comfortable stepping into leadership as opportunity arises, and whose experience positions them to do so effectively.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable full‑stack web applications using C#, .NET, and React
Own technical solutions end‑to‑end, spanning backend services, APIs, frontend interfaces, and data persistence
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into sound technical designs
Contribute to architectural decisions and system design with a focus on long‑term maintainability and scalability
Write clean, well‑tested, and maintainable code aligned with engineering best practices
Review code and provide constructive feedback, helping uphold a high standard across the team
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack in a timely and thoughtful manner
Participate actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to other engineers as situations arise
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience acting as a technical lead, project lead, or senior engineer with team‑level influence
Comfortable providing technical direction and guidance without formal people‑management responsibility
Proficiency with Azure cloud services
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker
Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including performance tuning
Exposure to modern data platforms and analytics solutions (Snowflake preferred)
