You will help implement strategies within the terrain park that will maximize efficiency and encourage continuous improvement to terrain park construction, maintenance, and its employee's growth.Essential Functions/Major ResponsibilitiesMaintain a positive attitude regarding department and resort operations and promote cross-departmental teamwork.Builders are expected to have mastered the controls of various models of Pistenbully and Prinoth snowcats.Be able to complete a large amount of work in an 8-hour shift.Sets an example on how to meet and follow timelines.Be able to groom an entire terrain park from start to finish and put out a photoshoot-ready product.Operators are expected to function with high integrity and report any damage to company assets as directed by resort operations.Be able to easily understand and teach grooming patterns for different park layouts and features.Be able to shape, reset, or dig out terrain park features efficiently with all types of snow.Understand specific building concepts.Be able to build and maintain a wide variety of terrain park features from a blank canvas, such as but not limited to: small, medium, and large parks.
(Can build and maintain all sizes of park features without assistance.)Shows mastery of all sizes of park rebuilds.Builders are expected to know how to set various features by hand and/or alone with a snowcat.Builders are expected to know how to remove various implements that a cat may use for terrain park construction and maintenance.
Including but not limited to: the blade, the tiller, Zaugg.Be able to carry various types of terrain park features on the blade.
(boxes, rails, walls, signs, shacks)Shows expert knowledge of winch cat operations.Shows expert knowledge on the grade of landings and can build landings of all sizes.Can build any size pipe from start to finish.Master of all Zaugg functions.Can maintain transitions in all parks and all sizes of pipes.Can train lower-level operators on proper halfpipe maintenance.Responsible for making sure grooming logs are filled out and dated at the end of each shift.Able to handle and manage larger workloadsAdvanced perception and skill set with snow cat blade and tiller functions.Maintain 100 hours of training time with lower-level operators.Secondary FunctionBe able to pick up, reset, operate, and lay out snowmaking guns and hoses.Assist with lift and access gate dig-outs as requested.Understand general grooming machine maintenance (oil, hydro fluid, coolant, tracks, belts, fuses, wipers, hoses).
Able to fix and rebuild hydraulic hoses.Able and willing to assist with any other project to help with the success of the resort's operations.Job ScopeThe job operates within the established parameters.
The terrain park groomer is accountable for their on-hill actions, including the safe build and grooming of terrain park features on a nightly basis, and for the safe operation of the snow cat.Interpersonal ContactsConverses daily on park matters with ski patrol, park manager, terrain park grooming staff, terrain park day crew, and alpine grooming staff.Shows strong time management skills and communicates in advance on timelines.Can meet timelines set out by supervisors/manager.Specific Job SkillsLicense/Certifications: Current and valid Driver's License.Technical: Be able to build, groom, and maintain all terrain park features in all types of snow, understand the difference between bad and good jump to landing transition....
safe and unsafe features.Physical Capabilities: Advanced Skiing or snowboarding ability, Ability to lift 50 pounds.Education/Related ExperienceMinimum education required: High School or equivalent.Minimum time in related position: 3 to 4 seasons of terrain park snow cat operations, expert cat skill level.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
