About this role
As a seasoned backend engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems and services. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into well-architected technical solutions.
Your responsibilities
* Design and develop complex backend systems and services that meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes through technical expertise.
* Mentor and guide engineers to foster a culture of ownership, quality, and technical excellence.
* Lead globally distributed teams and drive cross-functional efforts to shape high-quality, maintainable codebases.
* Participate in code reviews, observability, incident response, and continuous improvement of the platform.
* Influence the technical roadmap and participate in decision-making around architecture and tooling.
Required skills and qualifications
We are looking for a highly skilled engineer who possesses:
* A strong background in Java software development, with experience in Spring Boot and Microservices.
* Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, and services like Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and CDK.
* Familiarity with distributed caching technologies, such as Redis, Memcached, and ElastiCache.
* Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
* A solid understanding of secure coding practices, authentication flows, and encryption fundamentals.
* Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
* A proven track record of leading initiatives, mentoring engineers, or owning critical services.
