About the Role:
The ITAS (IT and Automation Solutions) team aims to provide IT support at the Mining plant located in Juruti-PA. This includes managing the infrastructure of the computing environment, supporting end-users, and supporting local/global projects that will be developed at the location.
This role involves engaging with various stakeholders and technical resources to deliver technology solutions projects and maintain the local systems environment. The position's responsibilities include managing the institution's ITAS staff and ensuring customer needs are met through the implementation and application of efficient and cost-effective IT, manufacturing, and process control solutions. The role also requires effective use of Alcoa corporate solutions and external services to provide common solutions, implement best practices, and represent plant customers and their requirements within the ITAS organization of the Alcoa Group.
* Site Representation & Strategic Planning
Represent the ITAS organization at the location and develop the annual operational plan aligned with plant, regional, and corporate objectives.
* Team Leadership & Development
Lead the local IT and Automation Solutions team, fostering a successful environment and supporting career development.
* Project & Portfolio Management
Manage local and global ITAS projects, prioritize change requests, and oversee capitalizable initiatives in alignment with plant and central teams.
* Technical Support & Solution Deployment
Provide hands-on support for systems like OSISoft PI and Power BI, and ensure smooth implementation and change management of new solutions.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Maintain active communication with plant leadership, participate in strategic meetings, and provide consultancy on technology solutions.
* Compliance, Budget & Vendor Management
Ensure compliance with IT standards and audits, manage the ITAS budget, and oversee service providers at the facility
What you can bring to this role:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science (or similar field) or equivalent work experience.
* Fluent Portuguese/English is mandatory (verbal and written).
* Familiarity with IT governance models (COBIT, ITIL)
* Familiarity with using project management tools such as Microsoft Project
* Experience in supporting and executing enhancements on IT and Automation systems (Ampla, OSISoft PI, Siemens WinCC, Custom built solutions, etc).
* Experience in Data Analytics solutions such as Microsoft Power BI.
* Customer oriented mindset, good communication skills and an ability to work cross-functionally, across operational functions and with all levels of the organization.
* Live in a remote region (Juruti-PA).

About the Location
Founded in 2006, with operations starting in 2009, the Juruti mine has a potential bauxite reserve of 700 million metric tons. Its current operating capacity is 7.5 million tons per year (6.5 million dry metric tons) of high-quality bauxite.
