Guided by the values of Audacity, Mastery, and Cooperation, Waga Energy employees in Europe, North America, and other locations are united by a common purpose: maintaining a livable planet for future generations.About The Position - Responsibilities & DutiesWaga Energy is currently seeking candidates for the position of Project Manager in Brazil (RJ or SP area).The ability to accommodate +/- 25% domestic travel time (including overnight stays) and site work is required for this position. Some international travel may also be required.This is an exciting, rewarding position promoting the role of renewable energies, notably renewable gas, in the future of energy transition.The Project Manager will serve as a member of a collaborative project team (based in France), responsible for managing landfill biogas-to-RNG projects via the successful delivery and operations of our WAGABOX units. The Project Manager role supports projects from the initial feasibility analysis stage through planning, design, permitting, construction, and ongoing operations.Responsibilities & DutiesManaging technical challenges, project management responsibilities, and client/project partner relationships to ensure successful project execution and professional growth.Developing and executing project scope, budget, and schedule from FEED through project delivery and site construction, while ensuring adherence to timeline, cost, quality and safety objectives.Managing all applicable regulatory and permitting tasks to ensure compliance with local, state, national, and industry codes and standards, including drafting and tracking requests for authorization.Managing the procurement of local equipment, supplies, and services essential for delivering the project within budget and schedule, and assisting the project team in France with procurement made in France, while ensuring engineering and process documents comply with local regulations and requirements. This includes coordinating with the Waga process department and outside equipment suppliers.Tracking and documenting project information (internal and external), including procurement information and scheduling and progress documentation.Managing subcontractors including engineers, equipment manufacturers, and site contractors, including requesting quotes, overseeing work to ensure adherence to the project plan, budget and quality standards, and tracking change requests.Assisting the Business Development team regarding technical aspects of potential projects (site visits).Managing civil, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities: organize site construction in line with the schedule, manage site co-activity safely, ensure subcontracting contracts are properly implemented, involve other departments (EIA, process), and participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning.Ensuring the successful handover of new projects to the facility operations team.Supporting ongoing operations via technical troubleshooting and system checks of WAGABOX units as needed.Maintaining a continuous focus on safety and process optimization/improvement throughout all phases, making suggestions and taking action as needed.Drafting grant applications when relevant.About You - Qualifications & SkillsThe ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, self-motivated professional with:A bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, process, electrical or a related discipline).A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project management role.Background in pressure equipment design, process piping, and rotating equipment.Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with engineering software (e.g., DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus.Expertise in the conception and commissioning of equipment within gas, chemical, or heat production industries. Ability to work on-site to participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.In-depth knowledge of engineering documentation and its practical application.Solid understanding of electrical and automation systems.Proven experience in project management and EPC project control, ensuring successful project execution.Knowledge of contracts, budgeting, accounting, and supply chain management.Familiar with ASME codes, as well as civil and structural engineering principles.Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.Fluent in Portuguese and English (knowledge of French is a plus).Resume and cover letters have to be sent in English.CultureFaced with the urgent need to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the employees of Waga Energy have committed themselves to take meaningful action to contribute to sustainable energy transition and the construction of a more environmentally friendly society.
