OverviewThe Technical Superintendent is the technical consultant responsible to the vessel management team consisting of captain, chief engineer and VSI and provides services to and monitors the vessels assigned and prepare and execute maintenance- and repair periods, according to global standards for Fleet Management and management contracts.ResponsibilitiesLeads by example through complying with all safety procedures and practices at all times; all tasks are to be performed in accordance with the Fugro (Standard) Vessel Management System and Fleet Services Management System.Reports, administers, and controls all responsibilities and tasks through the designated Computerized Management Systems (CMS); services delivered in line with the Fugro (Standard) Vessel Management System and Fleet Services Management System Quality Management.Ensures compliance with the Company’s Quality standards; supports internal projects and tasks to improve the company’s performance; participates in projects with good audit results and Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Management (HSSE).Maintains compliance with the Company’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental protection policy; manages vessels/projects with good HSSE statistics; oversees Fleet Management maintenance of assigned vessel(s).Ensures maintenance is in accordance with applicable Rules & Regulations, industry standards and the Fugro Maintenance Strategy as agreed in the Ship management contract.Reviews all planned and repair work scopes reported; is consulted by and advises the VSI and Chief Engineer on technical matters; continuously prepares Maintenance and Repair Periods and the budgets thereof.When assigned, prepares and/or contributes to modifications and ensures proper project execution in line with the agreed deliverables IT Management.Updates and maintains all vessel documentation in the CMS; ensures vessel-specific data quality in CMS in line with company standards; keeps CMS content up to date.Job RequirementsUnlimited Chief Engineer license or equivalent experience.Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.Have experience as a manager is preferred.Have experience as asset manager; a technical superintendent background is preferred.Seagoing or closely related experience.Experience with MS Office related software.Fluent in Portuguese and English verbally and in writing.Disclaimer For Recruitment AgenciesFugro does not accept any unsolicited applications from recruitment agencies.
