Job Description
Overall Responsibilities: The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for supporting our e-Commerce Transportation Operation for North America. The specialist will work with carriers, customers and internal stakeholders to execute daily transportation management functions following documented SOPs and providing status updates to the hiring manager.
Daily Responsibilities:
* Track and trace e-Commerce shipments in North America (sales, returns, trade-ins, replacements) to identify possible delays and create action to troubleshoot (only when needed).
* Analyze weekly and monthly on-time delivery metrics (OTD) for North America. Proactively collaborate with the Transportation carriers for root cause analysis and action plans.
* Update, automate (with help of other Google teams) and monitor centralized KPI boards.
* Resolve escalations from customers and/or internal stakeholders regarding shipment status all the way until resolution by collaborating with Transportation carriers and other Google teams/functions (customer support, Fulfillment, 3PL).
* Support Google Transportation Operations Manager in transportation master data configurations and troubleshooting.
* Support Transportation requirements for ongoing cross functional Projects.
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
* Transportation experience, or warehouse experience. (preferably in parcel transportation)
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace and SQL.
* Strong analytical and problem solving experience, combined with strong business judgment and an ability to present analysis in a clear and compelling manner;
* Able to navigate ambiguity in work to find issues and work with the appropriate teams to fix/find a solution. ability to follow up with cross functional teams.
* Must be detail oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
* Outstanding follow-through, time management and planning skills to deliver results.
* Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as the market develops in unpredictable ways, producing high quality work and projecting a positive attitude.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
* Experience operating within a Transportation Management System (TMS).
* Prior experience working with major parcel carriers, such as DHL Express, UPS, and FedEx.
* Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Workspace), with working knowledge of SQL and Tableau.
Required to work in the US PST time zone.
