Job Function: Marketing Job Sub Function: Strategic Marketing Job Category: People Leader All Job Posting Locations: Bogotá, Distrito Capital, Colombia, Mexico City, Mexico, São Paulo, Brazil Job Description: Position Summary The Strategic Marketing Director LATAM plays a pivotal role within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, leading the regional strategy for high-impact therapeutic areas and operating at the core of the Integrated Brand Value Team (IBVT) model. Acting as the main bridge between Global, Regional and Local teams, this leader shapes brand and portfolio strategy up to 5–6 years pre-launch, influences clinical development needs, and ensures strategic alignment (“One Voice”) across Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. As a D1 strategic leader, the director drives the development and execution of regional plans in close partnership with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Communications and country commercial teams. The role requires a strong strategic mindset, solid scientific grounding in Immunology (or Oncology/Hematology) or demonstrated learning agility to rapidly build scientific depth. Excellence in launch planning, the ability to manage complex portfolios with multiple indications, and the capability to navigate and influence within a highly matrixed environment undergoing cultural transformation are essential. This position leads a team of 3–4 Product Managers, strengthens cross-functional ways of working, and partners closely with Global to ensure LATAM needs are reflected in early pipeline decisions, positioning, messaging and evidence generation. It involves anticipating market dynamics, leveraging insights and competitive intelligence, avoiding portfolio cannibalization, and guiding countries in the effective transition from regional strategy to local execution. Equally important is the role’s contribution to J&J’s cultural evolution in LATAM—promoting a more agile, externally oriented mindset, challenging legacy processes, and shaping the “HOW” through collaborative leadership, influence without authority, and strong relationship-building across all levels. The ideal candidate brings: 10 years of strategic Marketing or Commercial experience at least 4–5 years of people leadership background in specialty care or other complex therapeutic areas strong capabilities in stakeholder management negotiation, portfolio thinking and cross-functional influence fluency in English, with a good fluence in English and Portuguese bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, life sciences or related fields is required; MBA a highly recommendable Key Responsibilities Lead Regional Immunology Strategy: direct strategic marketing activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with global vision and local market needs. Innovate and Implement: develop and execute new policies and procedures for strategic marketing plans across sales, access, medical, and other functions. Vendor & Partnership Management: select and manage partners to meet strategic objectives, supporting business development opportunities. Drive Customer-Centric Innovation: share customer acquisition goals and leverage new innovations to refine marketing strategies. Performance & Compliance: ensure all initiatives adhere to team protocols and deliver on key performance indicators. Creative Leadership: oversee the creative process, ensuring resource efficiency and customer insight integration. Team Development & Leadership: build high-performing teams, managing budgets, performance, potential, and succession planning. The Person Pivotal Experience & Expertise Regional Strategic & Portfolio Leadership: Capability to define long-term brand and portfolio strategy for complex therapeutic areas, influence global decision-making (from clinical development to positioning), and ensure “One Voice” across LATAM. Launch Excellence in High-Complexity Environments: Proven ability to lead end-to-end innovative launches across Access, Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Commercial. Scientific Depth & Learning Agility in Specialty Therapeutic Areas: Solid scientific understanding in Immunology (or Oncology/Hematology) or the agility to build rapid fluency in these domains. Direct business impact: credible strategic decisions, better influence with Global/Medical, and stronger evidence planning for LATAM needs. Cross-Functional Influence & Organizational Transformation: Ability to lead through influence within a highly matrixed environment, strengthening LATAM–Global alignment, improving ways of working, and shaping the “HOW” through collaborative leadership.
