Kenvue is looking for a Packaging Junior Engineer in the Essential Health Packaging R&D division. The position is based in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil and will operate in a hybrid work model that requires approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities
The Packaging Engineer supports the design, development, and validation of packaging components and processes for LATAM Essential Health (EH). This role contributes to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring packaging solutions meet quality, regulatory, and consumer expectations. The Packaging Engineer operates with autonomy, collaborates across global and regional teams, and applies technical expertise to deliver impactful packaging results.
Key duties include: development of LATAM Essential Health (EH) packaging in alignment with regional and global segment strategies; execution of packaging projects with autonomy, applying the Kenvue Packaging Development Process; creation and maintenance of robust, accurate, and compliant specifications for primary and secondary packaging components; conduct of packaging testing, data compilation, root‑cause analysis, and generation of technical reports; and collaboration with Global Packaging teams in innovation, sustainability, experience, value realization, and supplier excellence to support platform development and supplier selection.
The role also partners with the Global Packaging Sustainability team to embed sustainability guidelines into packaging specifications supporting Kenvue's environmental commitments, supports new package development based on consumer insights, monitors relevant packaging trends and technologies, and maintains awareness of supplier and competitor developments to share insights with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
* Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging design and development
* Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
* Familiarity with package test methods (e.g., ISTA, ASTM)
* Excellent project management and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and multicultural teams
* Fluent English for global collaboration and project management
* Knowledge of FDA, cGMPs, and CPSC regulations is highly desired
* Strong technical writing skills
Desired Qualifications
* Solid knowledge of packaging technologies in plastic molding, flexible film, and fiber‑based packaging
* Knowledge of CAD tools, packaging development software, material application, conversion technologies, DfM principles, and consumer use analysis
* Strong focus on sustainability and eCommerce (Omnichannel) packaging
* Data‑savvy – ability to use data, insights, and analytics to support technical decisions
* Experimental and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to communicate technical details clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and business partners
* Ability to influence and motivate cross‑functional teams to implement packaging programs
* Comfortable presenting ideas and results to diverse audiences
* Business acumen – understands trends, technologies, and information impacting the business and competition
