For one of our clients, a mid-sized company operating at scale, we are currently looking to hire aSenior Data Visualization Engineer.Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly autonomousSenior Data Visualization Engineerto lead our business intelligence efforts. As the sole subject matter expert in this space, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-impact dashboards—from architectural design inDatabricksto final visualization inTableau. This is a "team of one" role. You will be the primary consultant to our leadership team, translating complex data into actionable insights without the need for day-to-day technical oversight.Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Ownership:Design, develop, and maintain automated, scalable dashboards and reports. Data Engineering:Write and optimize complex SQL queries within Databricks to transform raw data into performant gold-layer tables. Architecture:Establish best practices for data modeling and dashboard performance tuning to ensure fast load times for large datasets. Strategic Partnership:Collaborate directly with stakeholders to define KPIs and requirements, acting as both the strategist and the executor. Self-Management:Manage the full project lifecycle, including documentation, testing, and deployment, with complete independence.Required QualificationsExpert Tableau Skills:5+ years of experience building advanced visualizations (LOD expressions, complex parameters, and API integrations). Databricks Mastery:Proficiency in using Databricks for data processing, including strong SQL skills and familiarity with Delta Lake architecture. Data Modeling:Proven ability to build "analysis-ready" data structures—you know how to join and aggregate data for maximum dashboard efficiency. Independent Problem Solver:A track record of standing up BI functions or working as a solo contributor in a fast-paced environment. Communication:The ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical executives clearly and concisely.Preferred SkillsExperience withTableau Server/Onlineadministration. Knowledge ofPythonorPySparkfor advanced data manipulation.
