PURPOSE OF ROLE
This temporary CLT role supports BBC Brasil's mission to deliver high-quality news to Portuguese-speaking audiences. Based in São Paulo, you'll lead late-shift coverage (4 p.m. to midnight), producing impactful digital content across video, text, and social platforms. With strong editorial judgment, knowledge of Brazilian and global affairs, and a passion for breaking news, you'll work autonomously under pressure—enhancing reach, engagement, and the BBC's reputation for impartial, innovative journalism across Brazil and beyond.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
* Research, report, write, translate, edit, and adapt original digital stories and programme material for Portuguese-speaking audiences.
* Create impactful multimedia content tailored to audience needs, using insights from metric analytics to guide editorial choices.
* Ensure all content adheres to BBC Editorial Guidelines and complies with legal, contractual, and copyright standards.
* Produce a wide range of news and current affairs content across digital platforms, including social media and partner sites.
* Contribute to the editorial development of BBC Brasil by delivering engaging, relevant journalism that reflects global and regional issues
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Strong editorial judgment, autonomy, and initiative, with sharp editing skills and the ability to respond swiftly to breaking news.
* Solid understanding of both Brazilian and international affairs, bringing original story ideas and creative treatments under pressure.
* Proven ability to produce engaging digital content tailored for diverse platforms and audience behaviors.
* Experience with digital video production and a passion for innovative, visual storytelling in a fast-evolving media landscape.
* Adaptability to new technologies and digital trends, with a proactive mindset for enhancing content and workflows
* Good command of English and knowledge of Spanish
