The Opportunity
Lead, for the assigned spend, a short and medium-term compliant, resilient, and sustainable sourcing strategy to meet targets on total cost of ownership and supply performance. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements in line with factory expectations to deliver price, lead time, and Terms & Conditions information, and control its usage in local ERP systems. Define and mandate Supply Quality and Development team on Supplier Management activities. Collaborate with factories and BU/GPG/HUB stakeholders to support bidding, design to value (DtV), and R&D activities. Initiate projects to reduce total cost of ownership and/or mitigate risks. Take ultimate accountability and approval authority, review, and ensure the quality of the team's operations in accordance with PG, BU, and HUB regulations and procedures.
How You'll Make An Impact
* Analytics and Market Intelligence: Analyze commodity spend, market dynamics, and price developments. Compare spend cost development vs market development based on total cost of ownership.
* Sourcing Activities: Assess, define, adjust, and improve HUB category strategy and plan (using CIPS methodology). Align on strategy with key stakeholders and communicate regularly. Execute and follow up on strategy deployment. Achieve HUB category targets focusing on cost, quality, and delivery. Regularly report on financial and supply performance. Review demand vs supply for critical materials and take measures to secure supply. Promote emerging market sourcing activities.
* Negotiation and Contracting: Collect factory requirements, run RFx, negotiate with suppliers, and sign/monitor contracts and SLAs.
* Cost Control Processes: Provide input on price trends, distribute market data, improve tender costing, promote cost analysis, and approve contracts and POs.
* Supply Base Management: Oversee supplier relationships, conduct risk assessments, evaluate performance, and manage claims. Scout for new suppliers and address performance issues.
* Projects: Support and initiate projects for cost reduction, risk mitigation, quality improvement, and technology transfer, including make vs buy studies.
Your Background
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
* Experience as a Category Leader in metal fabrication
* Advanced English (mandatory), Spanish preferred
* Proficient in ERP SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Office
