Job Description
Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), established in 1851, is a leading global merchant and processor of agricultural goods (also called commodity trading) with more than 22 000 employees worldwide.
In 2014, the Group started to rotate to process harmonization, Global Organizations and especially Digitalization by opening a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Finance, IT and HR based in Lyon.
With the CoE, the LDC Groups created a Global Finance Team, called FPSO (for Finance Processes Systems and Organization), which reports directly to the Group CFO and aims to:
Lead the Finance Transformation of the group
Digitalize LDC processes and organizations
Help LDC rotate to Finance best practices and best tools
In 2018, the Group materialized its ambition by initiating a Global Finance Transformation and Digitilization of its Back‑Office operations (Accounting, Controlling, Reporting, Procurement). It consists of:
Reshaping accounting and controlling processes
Implementation of SAP S/4 HANA suite including Business Intelligence, ARIBA
As of 2025, implementations have been done in several regions, including Argentina, Suisse, US, China. The program roadmap ends around 2028 and will be followed by other transformation projects on other systems.
The FPSO team consists of an international group of experienced resources with strong expertise in their domain. They act as the guardians of Group practices and solutions and coordinate the different ongoing projects in the LDC world for their respective scope.
Main Responsibilities
Payment flow (incl. integration with other systems), cash income flows and bank statement
Controlling
Accounting, fixed assets and month‑end closing
Integration with Consolidation and Reporting
Financial Specialist Role
Guarantee LDC Group practices and processes related to commercial processes
Support countries in execution and guarantee efficiency in terms of tools, organisation and processes
Key Activities
Live country support and small enhancements: enhance user experience, provide continuous improvement, be the core model keeper, supervise change delivery, keep documentation up to date
Small projects, called “Ad‑Hoc”: launch and drive initiatives to improve BOLD
BOLD implementations in new countries: act as a referent for core processes and data related to scope, balancing local needs and Group requirements
Innovation: support initiatives integrated with BOLD linked to analytics, automation, switch to paperless
The Financial Specialist will work for BOLD implementation in new countries, concretely in Brazil rollout (BORA Project), in charge of a group of processes related to Finance flows, and responsible for scope and deadlines.
The role requires close relationships with business partners, other program members such as PPSO (for procurement), EPSO (for execution), IPSO (for Industry) and collaboration with DT&A departments.
In addition to Global Finance Transformation activities, the specialist will help the group adopt other transformation initiatives such as Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence and Blockchain through functional expertise.
Experience
3-5 years of strong operational experience ideally.
Experience from a Finance Consulting or Technology Consulting firm
Participation in Finance transformation projects either as an internal or external resource
Experience working in project mode with ability to perform in various roles from individual contributor to a leadership role
Experience in Finance Transformation projects
Experience in companies dedicated to agriculture or commodity business
Experience in international environments
Experience in process design and implementation in an IT tool
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other business organizations; successful experience in working with diverse groups of people in a problem‑solving environment
Experience and expertise on SAP S/4 for one or more FI submodules or processes
Fundamental understanding of core accounting and finance processes is required
Strong ability to gather & analyze information, define problems and form a plan of action
Evident ability to analyze and challenge workflows, being analytical and synthetic
Exceptional organizational ability with a very strong attention to detail
Must be able to work independently and take ownership of this role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under time pressure and be result oriented
Languages & Qualification
Leading business school, Leading Engineer School, University degree in Business Administration with a major in:
Information System and/or
Finance / Accounting and/or
Process & organization management
