We are seeking a remote, full-time Mid Back-End Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience and strong expertise in .NET and C#. This role focuses on ingesting and transforming data from multiple sources, running data validations, and ensuring high data quality across ETL pipelines and backend services. The ideal candidate has experience with APIs, legacy data migrations, and AWS-based data environments. Experience with ECS Fargate, SQS, Kinesis, Firehose, S3, and Apache Iceberg is a plus.
This project has a 3-6 month duration with a possibility for long-term engagement.

Their software connects people, equipment, and facilities to provide enterprise-wide visibility and data-driven insights that fuel asset optimization, improve operational efficiency, and help organizations manage risk, maintenance, and fuel logistics more effectively.
Responsibilities
* Receive and process raw data from multiple internal and legacy systems.
* Design and implement data transformation pipelines that convert incoming data into standardized formats.
* Develop and maintain .NET / C# services and APIs used for data ingestion and transformation.
* Build and execute data validation and quality checks to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data pipelines.
* Support ETL processes, including exporting data from legacy systems and integrating it into modern platforms.
* Work closely with existing engineers responsible for data migration and integration efforts.
* Act as a data quality advocate, focusing on validating and testing data flows rather than application UI or front-end functionality.
* Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability.
* Collaborate with engineering and data teams to improve data consistency, validation processes, and pipeline stability.
Required Experience
* Excellent English communication and teamwork skills
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering roles.
* Strong experience with .NET and C# development.
* Experience developing APIs and backend services.
* Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and data transformation.
* Experience implementing data validation and data quality checks.
* Experience integrating data from multiple systems or legacy platforms.
* Familiarity with AWS-based data infrastructure and services.
Preferred Experience
* Experience with Python for data processing or scripting.
* Experience working with Apache Iceberg tables for data lake management.
* Experience with AWS data and streaming services, such as:
