Description: Senior PMO Analyst (Project Financials & Governance)
As you scale the SAP Consulting Practice, this role serves as your "Financial Controller" and "Governance Officer." This individual ensures that every project is financially sound, appropriately staffed, and transparently reported to leadership.
Position Overview
The Senior PMO Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end financial health and governance of the SAP Project Portfolio. This role acts as the primary liaison between Project Managers and the Finance department, ensuring that budgets are respected, resources are optimized, and executive reporting is pinpoint accurate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Financial Management
Budgeting & Forecasting: Establish project-specific budgets; maintain rolling monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
Actuals vs. Plan: Monitor "Actual" costs (Labor, Expenses, 3rd Party) against "Planned" values; perform rigorous variance analysis.
Month-End Excellence: Lead the month-end closing process for the practice, including revenue recognition, accruals, and deferrals.
Reconciliation: Reconcile project billing/invoicing with internal financial systems to ensure zero leakage.
2. Resource Utilization & Optimization
Capacity Planning: Track global resource allocation across multiple projects (e.g., WM consultants for Hilmar, L1.5 Support for Internship Programs ).
Utilization Reporting: Generate weekly/monthly utilization reports to identify "bench" risks or over-allocation.
Incentive Tracking: Assist in the administration of the Delivery Incentive Plan for Service Delivery Managers based on revenue generation.
3. Governance & Quality Assurance
Audit Readiness: Ensure project documentation, change requests, and sign-offs are archived and audit-compliant.
Change Management: Maintain the Change Request (CR) log and assess the financial impact of scope creep on project margins.
4. Executive Reporting & Analytics
KPI Dashboards: Design and maintain executive-level dashboards (Power BI or Excel) highlighting Portfolio Health, Margin, and Risk.
Stakeholder Management: Present financial performance summaries to Practice Heads and Regional Directors.
Cost Allocation: Manage complex cost-sharing models for multi-business unit projects like Inter Departmental Billing (IDB) and Inter Company Cost postings. Job Requirements Details:
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years in a PMO or Project Financial Controller role, preferably within an IT/SAP Consulting environment.
Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of Project Accounting, Revenue Recognition (IFRS 15), and Margin Analysis.
Tools Mastery: Expert-level Excel (Power Query/Macros) and proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA (FICO/PS modules) or specialized PPM tools.
Communication: Ability to distill complex financial data into concise, "C-Suite ready" insights.
Analytical Thinking: Proactive in identifying financial risks before they impact the bottom line.
