These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives, and require the investigation of variables dependent on the nature of work undertaken.What You Will DoInterfaces with clients to define a scope of work and job tasks.Performs as a team member, technical lead or a project manager, consistent with skills and experience required for the project.Drafts technically accurate and timely reports, responses to letters, faxes, and other forms of communication. Communication skills are continually developed – both written and oral.Develops or assists in the development of qualification statements, proposals, and other presentation materials.Reviews other engineers’ work, and provides appropriate guidance and training when necessary.Prepare and submit time charge records and expense reports in a timely manner, in accordance with Company procedures.Ensures that work products are appropriately reviewed before delivery to client.What You Will NeedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline preferredMinimum of 10 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and work experience.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge of related technical disciplines – specifically Risk & Safety / HSEAbility to utilize basic personal computer applications including spreadsheets, word processors, email, engineering programs, and Internet browsers.Ability to identify and efficiently analyze solutions to problems.Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.Ability to work well with others.Ability to gain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.Reporting RelationshipsThis position reports directly to Technical Manager level or higher and has no direct reports.About UsWe set out more than 160 years ago to promote the security of life and property at sea and preserve the natural environment.
