About the role
Alcoa is seeking a Production Operator A to join our team at the Alumina Reduction Unit in São Luís do Maranhão.
Main responsibilities include:
* Organize and clean the area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment;
* Open and close pots according to operational procedures;
* Track exchanged anodes and repair clamps, adjusting and checking anode contact;
* Remove burnoff and perform extra exchanges when necessary;
* Add sack and foam coal dust to maintain process quality;
* Operate equipment such as utility cranes, siphon cleaning machines, WL, and crucible machines safely and accurately.
Qualifications and skills
* High School diploma completed;
* Desirable: Participation in Alumar's Operator Training Program, e.g., Young Apprentice;
* Desirable: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office;
* Requirement: Availability to work in shifts.
