THE ROLE
The Manager I of Engineering plays a key leadership role, directly managing a small team of software engineers. This role is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality software projects, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture, and supporting the professional growth of engineers.
In addition to leading day‑to‑day execution, this manager contributes to tactical decision‑making, participates in architectural discussions, and ensures engineering efforts are aligned with project goals. They collaborate closely with product, design, and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that support Syniti’s broader mission.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Manage and support a team of software engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and regular performance feedback to support individual growth.
Guide the team in applying engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and secure development.
Participate in architectural and technical design discussions, ensuring sound engineering decisions.
Collaborate closely with product and cross‑functional teams to align priorities and deliver value.
Help shape a positive and inclusive team culture that fosters engagement, learning, and innovation.
Identify and address delivery risks, blockers, or process gaps within the team’s scope.
Contribute to hiring and onboarding of new engineers, and support team scaling efforts.

WHAT IT TAKES

Proven experience as a team lead or first‑line engineering manager in a software development environment.
Strong technical foundation in modern software development (e.g., C#, Go, React, TypeScript, AWS).
Familiarity with agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and software delivery processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support the growth of engineering team members.
Experience participating in technical design, architecture reviews, and secure development practices.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, distributed, and cross‑functional environment.

ENGINEERING MANAGER (Playlist)
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be leading a full stack or backend team focused on one of the key opportunities for Playlist.
YOU WILL:

ABOUT THE RIGHT TEAM MEMBER

You have deep experience in at least one aspect of developing a world class web application and you can manage a high performing team through the entire process.
YOU’LL THRIVE WITH EXPERIENCE IN:

3+ years of directly managing a full stack or backend engineering team of at least 6 people.
Experience shipping high quality websites or mobile applications.
You have established the architecture and best practices for web or mobile applications and their backends.
You have a proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute.

SENIOR PYTHON ENGINEER
Client is seeking highly skilled Python Software Engineers to support complex data workloads and AI‑driven systems. This role is ideal for engineers who are deeply hands‑on with Python and PySpark, comfortable working in production environments, and experienced contributing to or actively engaging with open‑source communities.
Top Requirement: Candidates must be very strong in Python and PySpark. This is non‑negotiable and should be the primary focus during technical screening.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop production‑grade Python services and APIs supporting AI and data platforms.
Build and optimize PySpark workloads to support large‑scale data processing.
Contribute to AI systems and complex data pipelines in production environments.
Develop developer tooling to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
Implement observability, monitoring, and performance optimization strategies.
Practice infrastructure‑as‑code and deployment automation.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams on architecture and system design.
Participate in and contribute to technical discussions and design reviews.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Strong Python expertise (primary language).
Strong PySpark experience working with large datasets.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Python.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Experience contributing to open‑source projects.
Code contributions, PRs, or meaningful participation via issues, discussions, or proposals in major libraries (data science, ML, or LLM ecosystems).
Strong experience with Git and platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
Experience with ML/data libraries such as Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow, or similar.
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Experience with containers, orchestration systems, and serverless technologies.
Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical decisions clearly.

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER (SVC/TGA FUND)
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our team! This is not a generic engineering management role. We need an engineer, first who is a hands on platform leader, reliable and decisive, with great communication skills.
This is a high‑ownership role where you’ll lead critical platform initiatives, scale high‑performing teams, and shape the technical foundations of upcoming projects/products.
You’ll get to manage multiple SaaS products via the engineering team that you’ll lead. You also get revenue share from the products you’ll manage via the engineering team.
YOU WILL:

Be in charge of the given quarterly budget, dictating how many engineering contractors that you can/want to have on the team.
Code during crunch times.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with data systems (SQL/NoSQL), messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka), containerized environments (e.g. Kubernetes) and UI technologies.
Familiarity with AI/ML ecosystems, including large language models, agentic AI, or AI productivity tools.
Typically 4+ years of engineering experience with at least 1 year leading multiple teams and senior level engineering talent.
Solid understanding of system design, architecture principles, UI frameworks, and API driven ecosystems.
Experience building or contributing to largescale marketplace or platform products.
Strong problem solving abilities and familiarity with SDLC, CI/CD, observability, and production operations.
Ability to partner across teams and operate effectively in dynamic or ambiguous situations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
