As a Data Scientist II for John Deere Financial (JDF), you will be responsible for supporting our strategy of using data and analytics to enable Deere sales, drive profitable growth at John Deere Financial, and deepen customer relationships, aiming to accelerate Data Science & Analytics capabilities throughout Latin America. In this role, you will leverage data science and analytical techniques to support Sales and Marketing efforts while partnering closely with other data & analytics teams including JDF Risk Analytics, Enterprise Customer & Channel Analytics, and our Data Enablement teams to execute and deliver the analytics and insights needed to support JDF's digital transformation. To perform these activities, it's essential that you have a curious and inquisitive mind, with a desire to understand and solve problems, strong communication skills and value building strong relationships with colleagues and partners, as well as the ability to explain complex topics in straightforward terms. Major Duties: - Develop data-driven solutions to support customer acquisition and retention strategies and create recommendations for Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience teams; - Develop and present new insights and recommendations to enhance and personalize existing Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience initiatives; - Develop sophisticated forecasting models; - Conduct pricing analytics including elasticity and optimization; - Participate in business partner meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops to capture and achieve business objectives through analytics; - Identify best analytical techniques that can be effectively applied to achieve business objectives and interpret next best action through data driven insights - Research and leverage state of art modeling techniques, participates in modeling innovation; - Work in a highly interactive, team-oriented environment with data scientists, data & analytics catalysts, analytics data engineers, data wranglers and visualization experts distributed across multiple countries. Qualifications: Required - Bachelor's and/or Advanced degree with specialization in statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, business administration, computer science, data science or equivalent; - Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook); - Advanced English level is mandatory (written and oral skills); - Proficiency in development using tools like R, SAS, Python and/or Statistica; - Proficiency in using analytics engines for large-scale data processing such as Apache Spark, Scala. - Experience using visualization tools to present insights (Tableau, R Shiny, Data studio and/or Plotly); - Ability to query data sources directly using SQL like query languages; - Previous hands-on experience building predictive models through statistical modeling techniques. Analytical approach will include but is not limited to logistic regression, discriminant analysis, decision trees, support vector machines, neural networks, machine learning, among others. - Ability to perform statistical analysis of moderate to highly complex structured and unstructured data from multiple sources that may not have common identifiers.
