Job Description

Salesforce would be nowhere without its successful sales team. We’re seeking a qualified sales representative to help sell Slack. The sales representative should have a strong understanding of the sales process and excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who has strong negotiating skills and an ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations, building ROI/TCO analysis and attending networking events.

Objectives of this role

o Represent Slack platform and services: Using market and customer research as well as deep and comprehensive knowledge of how our platform meet the needs of customers

o Selling Slack: Demonstrate the value of Slack to potential clients

o Managing customer accounts: Handle existing clients and work to reduce churn

o Negotiating contracts: Negotiate product pricing and commercial agreements

o Providing customer service: Answer questions, provide relevant product recommendations, and help customers maximize software use

o Communicating with the software development team: Relay customer feedback to the development team

o Staying up to date: Keep abreast of market trends and the changing software industry

o Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by successfully implementing sales and marketing strategies and tactics

Responsibilities

o Develop and implement a Territory Plan using comprehensive data analysis, and adjust sales techniques according to interactions and results in the field

o Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure that they receive exceptional service and to identify potential new sales opportunities

o Generate leads and build relationships by organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential customers

o Identify prospects, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories

o Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to conduct demos and handle objections

o Prepare concise and accurate reports, proposals, and other required documentation for executive-level presentations

Required skills and qualifications

o 8+ years of sales experience within a similar role

o Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills

o Proficiency with Salesforce Platforms

o Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism

o Solution / Value Selling Approach

o Proven success rate at levels above sales quota

o Ability to travel at least 25% of the time to customer events
