The Incentives Development team is dedicated to driving innovation and excellence. They blend technical expertise and creative problem-solving to create a top-tier user experience. As a Staff Backend Software Developer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the Varicent Incentives web application using React, Redux, C#, and AWS.
What You Bring
Technical Skills:
* 7+ years of backend development experience, especially with data-intensive applications.
* Proficiency in backend languages such as C#, Java, or C++.
* Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Redshift).
* Understanding of ELT/ETL processes and handling large-scale data.
* Solid understanding of software design fundamentals.
* Problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
Collaboration & Communication:
* Effective English communication skills (B2 level or higher) and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do
* Build new features for the REST API and enhance AWS infrastructure using C# and CloudFormation.
* Collaborate with product management, designers, and QA to implement features.
* Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code.
* Optimize application performance for scalability and low latency.
* Develop features using AWS tools like Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift.
* Automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines with Infrastructure-as-Code.
* Identify and resolve bottlenecks to ensure high availability.
First 30 Days: Getting Started
Learn our development process, codebase, standards, and tools. Participate in team meetings, collaborate, communicate progress, and complete small tasks or bug fixes.
First 60 Days: Building Momentum
Handle tasks independently, take on complex features, troubleshoot issues, adhere to standards, and participate in code reviews. Collaborate and contribute ideas.
First 90 Days: Hitting Your Stride
Lead development of significant features, ensure scalability, troubleshoot defects, meet deadlines, stay updated on industry trends, and suggest process improvements. Participate in roadmap and cost estimation discussions.
Note: Candidates will be hired through Varicent’s designated employer organization. Employment may transfer to a local entity, with recognition of seniority and benefits. The role requires working within EST hours, with flexibility for candidates outside EST. The position is fully remote, supporting work-life balance and diverse locations.
