Accounting Specialist role at Aurora Cooperative
Responsibilities
* Accounts Receivable
o Assisting customers over the phone and in person with questions about billing.
o Posting payments, processing energy transactions, and reconciling sales and deposits from locations.
o Maintain reporting tasks for account and payment reconciliation.
* Accounts Payable
o Match invoices with receivers and purchase orders and prep for processing
o Responsible for processing specified vendors
o Process invoices for payment
o Assist with resolving questions and conflicts on invoices
o Assure proper approvals are obtained for payments
o Maintain reporting tasks for validation on accounts payable invoice
* Supply
o Seasonal supply payables support (Spring Fertilizer/Freight, Late Summer Seed, etc.)
o Assist Finance Specialist on financing through 3rd party finance vendors (Rado, JDF, CC)
o Assist Finance Specialist with FIR’s and payments received through FIR process.
o Seed warehouse support for Seed Procurement Manager and seed warehouse crews.
* Other Job Functions
o Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
o Provide additional support to other divisions within the company as needed
o Provide support to customer service representative as scheduled.
o Assist co-workers with questions and miscellaneous information
o Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks. Prioritize work, and deal with deadlines.
o Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a self-starter who requires little supervision.
o Willing to work additional hours beyond the normal work week during month end, year-end, and audit preparation.
Qualifications
* Experience In Accounting, Billing, And Credit Preferred.
* Education Requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting with a bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Comparable experience may substitute education.

o Ability to communicate effectively with company managers, employees, customers, stockholders, and outside third-party interests
o Demonstrated organization, planning, and problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and with ability to perform under schedules and deadlines
o Proven computer and attention-to-detail skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes
* Other Requirements
o A valid driver’s license
o Must be able to move/lift up to 25 pounds
o Specific vision abilities are required such as close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
