Podcast Audio Editor Job
Description:
This contract remote role involves editing podcast audio files, enhancing sound quality, and implementing sound design to produce high-quality episodes. You will work closely with the content team to maintain brand consistency and meet deadlines efficiently.
The Podcast Audio Editor will be responsible for:
* Editing raw podcast audio into polished, broadcast-ready episodes
* Removing filler words, false starts, redundancies, and off-topic tangents
* Improving pacing, clarity, and flow without changing the speaker's voice or intent
* Restructuring sections when needed based on how questions were answered
* Inserting intro/outro, sponsor reads, disclaimers, or updates when required
* Following embedded audio notes and written instructions carefully
* Delivering clean final WAV/MP3 files on deadline
* Producing 3–4 short clips per episode for marketing use
* Supporting up to two rounds of edits per episode when requested
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience editing long-form podcasts (interview or narrative style)
* Strong editorial judgment—know what to cut and why
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
* Comfortable working with physician and expert-level conversations
* Fast, reliable turnaround times
