Big Moxi Games is looking for a Game Lead to drive the vision, design, and execution of standout UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) experiences. You will be the creative force behind new game modes and maps – owning everything from the first pitch to final polish. This includes building the layout, scripting gameplay with devices and/or Verse, and leading a small cross‑functional team of developers, artists, and audio designers.
Responsibilities
Own the creative vision and gameplay design for UEFN projects from concept to ship.
Write clear, actionable design documents, level layouts, and gameplay flows.
Implement layouts and devices to prototype and polish gameplay.
Lead and manage a small team of programmers, level designers, VFX/audio artists, and QA.
Playtest frequently and iterate based on feedback and player behavior.
Maintain scope and quality targets – ensuring builds are fun and balanced.
Stay ahead of Fortnite Creative trends, genres, and top creators to inspire fresh ideas.
Requirements
2+ standout Fortnite Creative maps shipped, with proven creative ownership.
Deep familiarity with UEFN and Fortnite devices.
Strong documentation and communication skills – able to align a team around a vision.
Experience leading cross‑functional game teams or pods (design, art, audio, code).
Feel for pacing, player behavior, game loops, and session design.
Passion for player‑first design and understanding what keeps Fortnite players engaged.
Differentials
Experience balancing game economies or progression systems.
Familiarity with live content updates, events, and analytics tools.
Background in competitive design, social games, or replayable PvE/PvP.
Experience with other UGC platforms (e.g., Roblox Studio, Minecraft, Core).
Experience using analytics tools or playtesting to refine games.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Verse, Blueprints, Lua, or Python.
Active in the Fortnite Creative or broader UGC dev community.
Avid gamer, especially Fortnite.
