Do what you love, care for the world, dare to challenge the status quo! #BELIMITLESSJob DescriptionFull time position (39 hrs per week)Annual salary - £30,000 to £32,000 per annumResponsible for the implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance in particular, the sustainable maintenance and the reduction of energy consumption strategyContribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on maintenance activitiesCover shifts as required including duty managerSet and implement preventative maintenance programmes, thus ensuring quality of the FF&E and plant equipmentControl invoices and external providers’ costsWork with GMs to elaborate maintenance budget and ensure compliance of their hotelComplete monthly energy reports and recordCOMPLIANCEEnsure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and guestsInspect works to ensure compliance with required standards, and performance targets and take corrective action under direction of line management as appropriateConduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the hotels under their responsibilitiesPROJECT MANAGEMENTPlanning, managing and coordinating projects and maintenance works including budgetsProduce information, analysis and reports to ensure line management are informed of project/work progress, problems and agreed resolutionsDelivery small scale projects (P&L) including lifecycle works ensuring performance quality levels are met throughout, risks to delivery are treated in a timely mannerRECRUITMENT & PERSONNELRecruit, supervise and train maintenance team membersManage, coach and develop a high performing and autonomous maintenance teamProvide technical expertise and support to the teamsAllocate the appropriate Human Resources in the clusterSet department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reportsReport on achievement of targets and identify any actions requiredEnsure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountabilityComplete departmental performance reviewsQualificationsA minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance.Previous managerial experience is a bonus.Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.Additional InformationYour team and working environment:Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House is a 4* hotel located at the quiet village called Iffley in Oxford.
