This position is remote. The candidate will manage various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will play a central role in making it easier for users to access Rain and build products that help maintain positive cash availability. You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet supporting seamless transactions and employer linking.Our ideal candidate is excited to tackle tough technical challenges and contribute strategically.Responsibilities:Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.Design and implement reliable systems in a distributed micro-services architecture.Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.Maintain detailed technical documentation.Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.Ensure effective cross-team communication and collaboration throughout the development lifecycle.Skills and Qualifications:5+ years of software development experience.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.Proficiency in Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.Experience designing RESTful APIs.Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.Experience building reliable, scalable applications and microservices.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.Strong ownership and project-driving skills.Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD frameworks.Knowledge of message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.Rain is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunity.
