Overview
**Scope**: The Head of Marketing and Communications, Latin America is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies that support BNY Mellon's business objectives in the region. The Head will work closely with country and business leadership across Latin America, and build a collaborative partnerships across the enterprise.
**Responsibilities**:
Develop and implement integrated regional marketing and communications initiatives to support BNY Mellon's business activities and strategic objectives across the region;
Create compelling and scalable narratives that highlight the business strengths that can be leveraged internally with employees and are tailored to support specialized markets or products, as appropriate;
Act as regional spokesperson for BNY Mellon. Build relationships with key news media, both top tier and trade publications. Navigate unique media landscapes in Brazil;
Significant yet episodic crisis communications in Brazil. Partner with external PR agency and Legal colleagues to determine appropriate response, typically under tight deadlines. Distribute media statements and/or client-facing communications;
Design and execute high-end internal and external events;
Build collaborative relationships with country and regional leadership, business stakeholders and corporate staff colleagues across the BNY Mellon enterprise;
Manage relationships with external agency resources, providers and partners;
Manage regional budget/ expenses.
**Qualifications**:
Experience in Marketing and Communications;
High-functioning, proactive individual who can handle stressful situations. Effectively prioritizes multiple demands on his/her time. Transitions easily from day-to-day tasks to high profile, critical crisis situations. Fearless when managing challenging situations and conflict;
Demonstrated track record of excellence in developing and executing marketing, communications and media relations for a large, global multi-national company ; financial services a plus;
Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization;
Ability to present and defend a point of view with the senior leadership team, internal colleagues and external media regarding how best to communicate complex matters;
Experienced in media outreach to secure coverage in national/regional newspapers, broadcast outlets and trade publications;
Strong experience using digital and social media platforms;
Outstanding written and oral communication skills; fluent in English and Portuguese;
Commitment to excellence and collaborative approach to getting work done, balanced with a sense of humour.
