Description
The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in managing financial activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment where you will be relied upon for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration..
Essential Responsibilities:
· Manage the general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
· Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
· Includes consolidation of international subsidiary.
· Prepare financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
· Perform detailed account reconciliations.
· Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
· Work closely with Revenue Cycle Management team to ensure appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and healthcare billing standards (e.g., insurance reimbursements, Medicare/Medicaid).
· Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and forecasts.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
· Support laboratory operations with financial insights into test profitability, supply costs, and staffing expenses.
· Implement and monitor internal controls.
· Train and supervise accounting staff; delegate responsibilities and ensure performance standards are met.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the clinical laboratory industry.
· Strong understanding of GAAP, financial principles, and accounting practices.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
· Experience with billing and collection software (e.g., Xifin, Telcor, Quadax) preferred.
· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to diverse audiences.
· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
· The ability to maintain confidentiality is critical.
· Experience with ERP system implementations preferred.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
