We are looking for a Recycled Plastics Markets Reporter to join our Content team in the Americas. You will work closely with analysts and editors to assess prices, produce market intelligence, break news, investigate developments, and explain implications for our customers.
The role offers opportunities to engage with industry contacts, attend and speak at industry events, and contribute to expanding ICIS's market coverage and methodology. It is a chance to grow as a recognized expert in your field during a pivotal time of global transition.
Key Responsibilities
* Cover recycled PET, PE, and PP markets in Latin America, producing weekly content with high accuracy and timeliness.
* Explain price trends and market developments through insightful news and analysis.
* Proactively seek out stories within your portfolio.
* Build and maintain a network of industry contacts.
* Develop expertise in petrochemical markets.
* Use data visualizations to report on complex topics engagingly and timely.
* Coordinate with regional and global colleagues to tell a cohesive market story.
* Translate analytical concepts into clear written content.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

* Interest or knowledge in market economics.
* High numerical accuracy.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Experience with Excel and business tools.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.

* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, plastics engineering.
* Experience in the plastics industry, especially recycled plastics, is desirable.
* Experience in plastics purchasing or sales is a plus.
* Basic analytical skills.
* Fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
