- Main responsibilities
- CHC Head of Finance Operations in Brazil will provide Account to Report (A2R) processing and related services with end-to-end accountability and consolidates the following activities: Fixed assets, Intercompany Accounting, Tax and Treasury Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Enterprise Consolidation, External Reporting_.
_The role will have the overall accountability and to partner with FBP to ensure sustainable processes._
- The purpose of this role is to:
- Responsible for all accounting aspects of the LE including accounting topics related to Tax and Treasury
- Accountable for sign off of both local and corporate financial reporting: accuracy and fair representation of the legal entity, financial statements and corporate reporting (Solar), and all the underlying processes that support the generations of the financial statements (including SOX certifications)
- Be the A2R partner to the local business and provide value add services to key stakeholders through proximity, knowledge of local business, culture and language
- Lead the A2R services organization with a solid line management responsibility for A2R team members
- Provide technical accounting guidance and advice accounting treatment (for IFRS/SAGA and statutory purposes) of planned complex transactions (e. g. restructuring and litigation provisions) towards finance/business partners
- Facilitate resolution of operational issues in an effective and timely manner
- Monitor operational KPIs and compliance with Sanofi policies and guidelines
- Contribute to local accounting committees and/or A2R Governance
- Supervise the frontline A2R teams in countries/MCO in scope
- Drive continuous improvement
- CHC Head of Finance Operations (Country / MCO) reports to A2R Head of Region.
- He / she works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control...), other GBS departments and Customer Service.
- Operation
- Manage the relationship with key stakeholders at cluster or country level and provide front line services as per Service Level Agreements
- Review, validate and provide local expertise in
- Asset Management - inventory costing, valuation and depreciation, asset life cycle management, inventory follow-up and month end reporting
- Tax and Interco services - calculate tax and prepare tax returns
- Treasury - entries relating to financial instruments, forex net position calculation
- Financial closing and reporting - monthly closing activities, external financial reporting
- Ensure compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements
- Monitor operational KPIs to pro-actively manage execution issues
- Supervise and coach A2R Accounting managers in countries in scope
- Provide expertise and coaching
- Anticipate workload and allocate resources for effective and efficient delivery
- Select and hire employees
- Evaluate employee performance, determine training needs, develop talent
- Address performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions
- Motivate and reward employees by recommending salary increases, bonuses and promotions
- Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7)
- Continuous improvement
- Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities and potential automation
- Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition
