Monthly salary: $4,000 - $5,000 USD


Along with our partner, we are seeking a highly technical and execution-driven Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong foundation in software engineering and FinTech systems. This role is designed for an individual who began their career as a Software Developer and progressed through roles such as Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, or Solutions Architect before transitioning into technical project and delivery leadership.


The ideal candidate possesses deep technical fluency, operational discipline, and the ability to bridge communication between Engineering, Product, QA, Operations, Compliance, and Executive stakeholders. This person must be capable of understanding architecture and implementation details while also driving accountability, sprint execution, release quality, and cross-functional coordination.


This role is heavily hands-on in Agile execution, staging oversight, ticket quality management, delivery orchestration, and developer enablement within a fast-paced FinTech environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Project & Delivery Leadership

* Lead end-to-end delivery of complex FinTech software initiatives from requirements gathering through production deployment.
* Manage multiple concurrent technical projects involving:

○Payment systems

○Banking integrations

○APIs and microservices

○Compliance workflows

○Operational tooling

○Merchant onboarding systems

○Transaction monitoring platforms

* Coordinate closely with their Product, Engineering, QA, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure successful execution and alignment.
* Own sprint execution, delivery timelines, release readiness, dependency management, and escalation handling.
* Drive Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and stand-ups.


Engineering Collaboration & Technical Leadership

* Partner directly with developers and technical leads on architecture, technical solutioning, and implementation planning.
* Participate in technical discussions and understand tradeoffs involving:

○APIs

○Distributed systems

○Cloud infrastructure

○CI/CD pipelines

○Database architecture

○Security and compliance requirements

* Translate business objectives into actionable technical requirements and delivery plans.
* Facilitate technical solutioning sessions where complexity or architectural alignment requires deeper engineering collaboration.
* Serve as a technical liaison capable of communicating effectively with both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.


Sprint Oversight & Operational Execution

* Monitor sprint boards, stand-up notes, and ticket progress daily to proactively identify blockers, delivery risks, or stalled work.
* Ensure comments and updates on tickets are acknowledged and addressed in a timely manner.
* Review sprint boards regularly for accuracy and escalate persistent process breakdowns or delivery concerns when necessary.
* Ensure meaningful technical and business context discussed in Slack or meetings is properly documented within tickets and project artifacts.
* Monitor developer output and identify both underperformance and high-performing contributors.


QA, Staging & Release Management

* Maintain active oversight of staging environments and release readiness.
* Conduct thorough QA reviews of staging builds, workflows, and business logic before approving production promotion.
* Ensure bug tickets are consistently identified, documented, prioritized, and routed appropriately during QA review cycles.
* Coordinate release readiness and production deployment approvals with Engineering teams.
* Validate that ticket acceptance criteria and business requirements are met prior to release.


Requirements Gathering & Ticket Quality

* Translate high-level stakeholder requests into detailed, actionable business and technical requirements before development begins.
* Ensure tickets are:

○Clear and self-explanatory

○Thoroughly scoped

○Inclusive of edge cases

○Written with strong acceptance criteria

○Structured to minimize developer ambiguity and rework

* Coordinate design handoffs, technical handoffs, and documentation updates throughout the development lifecycle.
* Maintain backlog hygiene and ensure groomed work is consistently prepared ahead of sprint planning.


Stakeholder Communication & Process Leadership

* Conduct recurring stakeholder reviews to align priorities, timelines, and delivery expectations.
* Organize sprint demonstrations, release reviews, and retrospectives focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
* Present delivery updates, roadmap progress, risks, and operational metrics to leadership.
* Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement across technical teams.


Required Qualifications:

Experience

* 8+ years of experience in software engineering, technical leadership, or technical project management.
* Prior hands-on experience as a Software Developer or Software Engineer.
* Demonstrated career progression into:

○Technical Lead

○Engineering Manager

○Technical Program Manager

○Solutions Architect

* 3+ years leading technical delivery in FinTech, payments, banking, SaaS, or regulated environments.


Technical Expertise

Strong understanding of:

* Agile/Scrum methodologies
* Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
* REST APIs and microservices
* Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
* Relational databases and data modeling
* Distributed systems and integrations
* Security, compliance, and operational risk considerations


Preferred experience with:

* Kubernetes / Docker
* Kafka or event-driven architectures
* Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code
* Payment processors and banking APIs
* PCI-DSS, AML/KYC, or financial compliance systems


Project & Process Management Skills

* Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tooling.
* Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage technical dependencies, competing priorities, and delivery risk in fast-moving environments.
* Proven ability to lead technical teams without direct authority.
* Strong operational discipline around documentation, sprint execution, QA oversight, and release coordination.


Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in payment processing, banking, lending, payroll, crypto, or merchant services.
* PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications.
* Prior people management experience.
* Experience leading distributed engineering teams.
* Startup or high-growth company experience preferred.


Education:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
* Equivalent real-world engineering and technical leadership experience strongly considered.
