Job Overview
The Cloud Architect Lead role focuses on creating an improved developer experience and enhancing automation-first approaches for the adoption of cloud computing environments.
This individual contributor develops Terraform, Chef, and Python REST API-based automation to provision, manage, and decommission cloud resources in public clouds AWS, Azure, GCP, and private clouds efficiently.
1. Develops and enforces CIS security standards for Windows and Linux operating systems using Chef or similar configuration management tools.
2. Delivers new cloud services while simplifying service consumption and operational management.
3. Leverages Python REST APIs to automate 'zero' touch provisioning, patching, change, and decommissioning of VMs, Kubernetes, PaaS databases for lifecycle management of hybrid cloud resources.
4. Develops REST APIs in Python using BDD methodology and implements public cloud security guardrails.
5. Collaborates with application teams to implement public cloud computing environments.
6. Builds hybrid cloud infrastructure provisioning workflows leveraging continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines (CI/CD) running on Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
7. Partners with application teams to resolve sophisticated technical problems across infrastructure and application stacks.
8. Designs, engineers, and implements infrastructure as code with API-first and microservices-based approaches for public cloud services.
9. Leverages internal and external resources to develop talent and advance skills retention.
10. Reviews current processes and identifies opportunities for automation and builds common frameworks in agile manners that cultivate adoption of automation across all layers.
11. Grooms Jira features and stories to improve reliability and reduce support incidents for global infrastructure effectively.
