Responsibilities
As an SRE in IBM CIO Platform Engineering (CPE), you will maintain, support, and enhance multiple aspects of the Z environment, including z/OS Storage Management, Configuration, z/OS Performance, Capacity, and Networking tools.
You will maintain, support, and enhance the multi‑technology monitoring and automated remediation systems that support all IBM internal applications and systems. You will identify points of improvement in technical processes, propose new automation solutions, and co‑create solutions that improve the efficiency of operations.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Installation and Configuration / System Setup – physical configuration and initial setup of the storage devices using DS CLI or DS8000 Storage Management GUI.
Hardware Maintenance Support and Troubleshooting – support to field SSR during maintenance.
Host Connectivity – sync with zConfig IODF activities using storage device/disk/LCU range information.
Copy Services Management – administration of CSM servers running FlashCopy, copy‑x, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and Global Copy.
Disaster Recovery – support and maintain all replication sessions.
LDAP Activities – configuration for user connection and integration with LDAP servers.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Capacity – monitor current device capacity and MES requests.
Python Automation – related to device requests for audit, health check, and general data collection/extraction.
