As a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate their seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front-line manager to provide leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office related growth objectives. We’ll help you advance your knowledge and skills you’ll need to excel with us as you serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership to a customer-centric team of tax office associates and accelerate the seasonal tax business by managing a single tax office.Inspire and develop associates to deliver an outstanding client experience and achieve office growth objectives.Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with attention to quality, priorities, and goals; manage associate schedules and timekeeping.Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.Train and coach associates to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.Serve as front-line manager for onboarding, development, and performance of tax office staff; prepare tax returns as required.Handle onsite escalated client service concerns and resolve scheduling conflicts.Create schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.Support recruiting and interviewing for tax office roles and assist in developing local partnerships and community involvement.Partner with the District General Manager to implement office-level growth plans.Lead the office to meet growth objectives and provide a positive, engaging team environment.Perform timely performance reviews and address performance concerns in collaboration with relevant HR resources.Your ExpertisePrior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course if you will be preparing tax returns.Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Customer-centric mindset; passionate, determined and resilient.Able to work a flexible schedule and adapt to business needs.High school diploma or equivalent or higher.Why work for usAt H&R Block, we invest in our people by supporting their total well-being.
