About the Role
As a seasoned audio editor, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality podcast episodes that captivate and engage listeners. This involves meticulous editing of audio files, enhancing sound quality, implementing sophisticated sound design, adding music, and ensuring overall production excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Removing filler words, false starts, redundancies, and off-topic tangents from conversations
* Enhancing pacing, clarity, and flow while preserving the speaker's voice and intent
* Restructuring sections when necessary to maintain narrative coherence
* Inserting intro/outro sequences, sponsor reads, disclaimers, or updates as required
* Following embedded audio notes and written instructions carefully
* Delivering clean final WAV/MP3 files on deadline
* Producing short clips per episode for marketing purposes
* Supporting up to two rounds of edits per episode when requested
Requirements:
* Proven experience editing long-form podcasts (interview or narrative style)
* Strong editorial judgment with an ability to discern what enhances the content
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
* Comfortable working with physician and expert-level conversations
* Fast, reliable turnaround times
* Clear, professional communication
* Familiarity with tools like Descript, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, or similar
