The Financial Controller is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations. This role ensures robust financial governance and provides strategic insights to support decision-making at the executive level. This position owns the accuracy of financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, and drives continuous improvement across all finance processes. Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial performance to the Finance Director. Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance. Coordinate and manage external audits and liaise with auditors as required. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process, partnering with departmental leaders to develop realistic and aligned financial plans. Produce rolling forecasts and variance analyses, providing insights into performance trends. Identify risks and opportunities within financial projections and recommend corrective actions. Cashflow & Treasury Management Monitor and optimise cashflow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs. Implement robust cashflow forecasting models. Oversee banking relationships and ensure efficient treasury operations. Cost Control & Efficiency Review and refine financial processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Analyse cost structures and develop strategies to drive margin improvements. Support operational teams with financial insights to inform commercial decision-making. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build capability and support career growth. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Provide financial training and guidance across the organization where required. Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies: Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role. Qualified Accountant. Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and excellent knowledge of data analysis. Proficiency using accounting software, ideally Netsuite. Solid analytical and decision-making skills. Ideally having knowledge of FRS 102 reporting. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative and entrepreneurial environment.
