Job Title: Technical Operations Specialist
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
This position involves providing technical direction and guidance to support the most complex application needs. The individual will develop strategic stakeholder relationships within the business units to ensure client satisfaction with complex IT design and the development of efficient business systems.
Main Objectives:
* Liaise between IT and business stakeholders to support the most complex application needs.
* Provide technical direction and guidance for a wide array of application / infrastructure activities supporting the business applications, processes & procedures across the enterprise.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:
1. Participate in architectural discussions and evaluate the applicability and usefulness of proposed solutions.
2. Responsible for the support and implementation of solutions and ensuring successful introduction across the organization & with clients.
3. Perform technical analysis and prepare recommendations as needed.
4. Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, and outside vendors.
5. Possess a broad knowledge of technical skills and use them to effectively coordinate team members with the supported businesses.
6. Facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solutions.
7. Possess strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and incident management skills.
8. Utilize the appropriate technologies and ensure that customers have the solutions best suited to their requirements.
9. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
10. Oversee key operational controls to ensure ongoing operating effectiveness.
11. Must be a self-starter and self-motivated and be able to prioritize accordingly depending on demands from businesses and app/dev teams.
12. Be comfortable talking to development, production and infrastructure teams.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial.
* 5+ years of related Production support experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
* Programming/Scripting Skills in Java, Python, C++, Django etc (any scripting or coding language and ability to learn).
* Experience in various App/Networking Monitoring Tools (Splunk, Appdynamics, Prometheus etc etc).
* Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work with Global Teams, and growth mindset.
Desirable Skills:
* Advanced proficiency in DevOps, Agile, & Lean is a plus.
* Business knowledge of Securities, Fund Accounting, Collateral, and Tri-Party Repo preferred but not a must.
* Experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud, Virtual, MQ, Database, Network, ITIL, Service Management preferred.
