Responsibilities and duties

* Teach classes and guide children's learning, promoting learning experiences based on RED HOUSE's pedagogical plan and the special needs of every student;
* Know the school's Pedagogical Proposal, the approach adopted and the learning expectations of that specific grade;
* Analyze the student's evolution in the learning process, collecting evidence and paying attention to individual needs, defining actions to improve performance;
* Develop, together with the coordination, strategies that promote the improvement and engagement of students, based on observation and evidence collection;
* Promote classes and differentiation strategies for students with learning difficulties;
* Supervise the work of the Teaching Assistant (TA) in adapting activities for students with special educational needs;
* Ensure safety, supervising students during activities and guiding as necessary to avoid accidents, consistently applying this stance to all school students;
* Observe children's attitudes and behaviors to identify illnesses, and manage necessary actions;
* Report observed behaviors and performance to the coordinator to keep families informed;
* Receive students at the school entrance and exit, ensuring handover only to a person in charge;
* Follow RED HOUSE's general guidelines (Language Policy, Teachers' Handbook, Assessment Policy) and ensure the TA does too;
* Prepare weekly plans as agreed with the coordinator and display them in the classroom;
* Periodically review weekly plans, re-planning as needed to achieve proposed objectives;
* Forward copies of activities and material for class use or projects for approval by the Coordination, respecting deadlines;
* Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by current legislation and policies (Class Journal);
* Advise students through evidence-based practices and manage conflicts according to school philosophy;
* Prepare Report Cards and present them to the coordination by deadlines;
* Guide the TA on materials for the student's portfolio and supervise filing of portfolios;
* Guide the TA on classroom decoration and organization, and on materials and toys;
* Explain expectations, deadlines and instructions to the TA clearly, reporting development needs to the coordination;
* Inform parents/guardians about the student's development in individual or group meetings under the supervision of the coordinator;
* Attend Academic Meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence;
* Be responsible for student materials and class management;
* Communicate daily occurrences related to students (accidents, illnesses, absences, etc.) to the coordination;
* Share relevant information about students with other teachers in the class;
* Meet deadlines set by RED HOUSE guidelines (newsletter, unit summary, unit planner, etc.);
* Check and control allergies and special diets of students in the class, ensuring safety;
* Perform tasks described above and as determined by the immediate superior.


Requisitos e qualificações

* Education: Degree in Pedagogy
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of classroom experience; 2 years experience as a head teacher of early childhood education (students from 1 to 3 years old); Nursery experience; Classroom management.
* Languages: Proficiency in English
* Specific Technical Knowledge: Bilingualism; Early Childhood Education
* Desirable Knowledge: IB Methodology; Child Development
* Soft Skills and Values: Digital Thinking; Caring Profile; Interpersonal Relationships; Conflict Management; Creativity
* Campus: Cuiabá
* Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:30 to 17:30; Saturdays according to school events
