Information Technology Support Technician
Overview:
We are looking for a skilled IT Support Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
1. Basic knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers and wireless access points preferably CISCO, Riverbed.
2. Assigning switch ports to specific VLANs.
3. Patching phone ports to switch as needed.
4. Troubleshooting Avaya VOIP phones with basic configuration knowledge.
5. Resolving issues with fiber links between switches and visualizing errors to communicate with remote technical teams.
6. Replacing network switch chassis blades when required.
7. Understanding data center infrastructure management applications.
8. Performing periodic checks on IDF rooms for cooling and power status including UPS alarms and PDU health.
9. Basic knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solarwinds.
10. Networking and operating system basics.
12. Interpreting monitoring tool outcomes.
13. Basic ITSM tool knowledge preferably ServiceNow.
14. Backup technologies knowledge preferably EMC Avamar.
15. Operating systems knowledge - Windows 2003 servers Enterprise/Standard Edition, UNIX & linux.
16. Windows 2003 Active Directory structure, MS Exchange 2003 and File/Print Server.
17. Experience in SLA base environment.
18. Server performance monitoring preferred.
