Our company is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to design, develop, and lead the delivery of enterprise-grade data integration and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle performance tuning and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), combined with strong leadership and communication skills.
The successful applicant will lead technical decision-making, mentor team members, and collaborate with DBAs and business stakeholders to deliver high-performance, scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Optimizing query and database performance to meet strict SLAs (<2 seconds).
* Analyzing execution plans and recommending indexing, partitioning, and optimization strategies.
* Partnering with DBAs to validate and implement tuning recommendations.
* Overseeing ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and data quality.
* Leveraging AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, DMS) for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
* Leading and mentoring the team, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
* Translating technical decisions into clear explanations for both technical and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
* 7+ years of experience in data engineering within enterprise-scale environments.
* Expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including query optimization, execution plans, indexes, partitioning, and parallelism.
* Hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
* Expertise in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
* Experience in data warehouse design, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
* Proven leadership experience, including team mentoring and technical guidance.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with DBAs, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
* Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, DMS).
* Prior experience in Wealth Management.
Location: Remote (preferably based in São Leopoldo/RS or Porto Alegre/RS region)
