Culinary Team Leader
A seasoned Chef Tournant is required to oversee the culinary team in a dynamic kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent food knowledge, strong management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a multicultural setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Directs and evaluates direct reports, ensuring exceptional performance and consistency in taste.
* Maintains recipe folders and undertakes daily recipe reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Coordinates and supervises team members, assigns tasks, and controls production levels to optimize efficiency and cost control.
* Prepares electronic requisitions, counterchecks deliveries, and ensures accurate inventory management.
* Ensures adherence to public health regulations and maintains a clean and safe working environment.
* Reports for duty at assigned times and adheres to rules and regulations regarding personal appearance and hygiene.
Qualifications and Education:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service, with at least 2 years as Chef Tournant (shipboard experience preferred).
* Culinary school degree required.
* Strong leadership skills, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
* Superior customer service, teamwork, conflict resolution, and planning skills.
* Intermediate computer software skills and basic accounting principles.
