Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead medical device sales and commercialisation efforts in Colombia. The ideal candidate will bring strong market knowledge, an established network within the healthcare ecosystem, and the ability to drive both product and service revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: Medical Device Sales & Commercialisation Strategy
Sales Strategy & Implementation
Develop and execute a comprehensive commercialisation strategy for assigned medical devices in the Colombian market
Identify target markets, customer segments, and strategic partnerships across hospitals, clinics, and distribution networks
Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for healthcare professionals, including physicians, hospital staff, and distributors
Market Expansion
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation/therapy centers, and distributors
Drive market penetration through key opinion leader (KOL) engagement and evidence-based product positioning
Perform competitor analysis and market research to identify new growth opportunities
Sales Targets & Performance
Achieve defined quarterly and annual sales targets
Track and report KPIs including sales performance, pipeline status, customer feedback, and competitive insights
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with regulatory, marketing, and operations teams to ensure compliance with Colombian regulatory requirements, including INVIMA guidelines
Support post-sales activities to ensure high customer satisfaction and long-term retention
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field
Pharmacist license preferred
Technical Skills
Minimum 5+ years of experience in medical device sales, commercialisation, and business development
Strong understanding of Colombia’s healthcare system and medical device regulatory landscape (INVIMA knowledge preferred)
Proven experience in building and managing distributor networks and institutional relationships
Soft Skills
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently achieve sales targets
